Technicolor
I was walking through Rittenhouse Square
Just the other night
A balmy evening breeze
Wafting through the trees
Children playing here and there
Couples engaging each other on park benches
Dogs frolicking on the grassy patches
A solo sax player playing a lonely tune
The light was just right
And it took me away
To another place
Another time
I felt like I was in
One of those glorious technicolor openings
Of an Alfred Hitchcock film
Where everything was grand
It felt surreal
As the sun’s last rays of light
Glowed crossing the towers
Surrounding the square
I stopped and took it all in
It felt special
Like a real movie
With that lonely sax soundtrack in the background
I guess in this film
The next scene would set up today’s real world issue
And the master of suspense
Would solve COVID-19
