Departure

So Paris was a success

On so many levels

The work scored

And the ambiance was top notch

We rented a house

In the 15th Arrondissement on la Rive Gauche

A beautiful neighborhood

With all the accoutrement you’d expect in Paris

We traveled to work on the Metro

Two stops and we were there

In the midst of all the insanity

At Paris Games Week

Back home we visited our local spots

The patisserie with fresh croissants each morning

Justin’s with coffee and killer sandwiches

And the bistros on each corner of our block

We met Alice

Our waitress on the first morning

Who had just returned from a year in New York

Donald Trump had sent her home

We found other people and places

None too extravagant

All with absolutely delicious food

And service that appreciated our visit

My broken French got us through

And to my surprise

Many wanted to engage in English

Just to try it out

I did venture over to Rue Saint-Honoree

And had dinner at a Paris hot spot one night

A place where all the beautiful people dined

And my Paris seems to have a lot of them

I leave Paris with a warm feeling

One that seems to be welcoming me back

To visit again with someone special

To share our hearts with the city of lights

Vive la France
