Comp City

There are times

When you make a plan

And there are times

When your plan goes right out the window

This is a story of the latter sort

Michael Buble

For those in the know

Is the crooner of the new millennium

Sauvé and debonair

He exudes a kind of cool

That ladies dig

My dear friend

Has been waiting for years to see him live

I mean this has become a mission

And nothing was going to stop the show

Using all her powers

Friendy sets up a big weekend

Go see Michael at Boardwalk Hall

Stay in a suite

Party the night away

Only problem is

She’s short a guest

Someone to join the scene

To complete the Buble Express

In steps yours truly

Knowledgeable to some degree

Of the MB discography

But also completely tuned into

The bucket list drama of Friendy and Michael

So the night begins with a bottle of champagne

Compliments of the house-

There ended up being a lot of that over the weekend

Friendy was dialed in

Rolling over to the show

We grab our tix at Will Call

Compliments of the house-

Did I mention that keeps coming up?

Well they’re good

Really good

On the floor

With lots of space to dance and move

Another drink

And out comes Michael

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Ladies swoon all over the house

He’s wrapping his tour this night

Show 118

And he looks like it

A little rough but no one seemed to care

Anyway as the show rolls on

There’s a part

Where he plays to the back of the house

Actually walks through the venue to a rear stage

Well what goes out

Must come back

And guess who’s right on the aisle

Waiting for his triumphant return

You guessed it

Friendy

Who is now gushing

Because the usher has taken her

Right to where MB is cruising by

And here he comes

With camera rolling

Friendy engages MB

I LOVE YOU MICHAEL!

With a turn

He grabs her hand

And glances over his shoulder

A little eye contact

And he’s off to the stage

Well there was a plan

But this wasn’t part of it

Because now this grown woman

Is jumping up and down like a 12 year old

Who just saw the Beatles

He held my hand!

He held my hand!

I’m never washing it

Never ever ever

It was great

And of course it was captured for posterity

On her iphone

This guy rules

So the concert ends

And our good karma is active

As our car is waiting at the door

To drive us away from the show ahead of the masses

Off to the hot new restaurant of the moment

Martoranos

A nifty Italian place

With great food and a rockin dance floor

We land at eleven

And dine and dance until they close

Compliments of the house-

There it is again

Checking her video

At least 100 times

Friendy is over the moon

And should be under the table

From all the champagne consumed

But not this night

This night just rolled by

And a good plan

Was eclipsed by good karma

That sometimes happens upon us

With the fun and happy it can bring

Compliments of the house-

Of course
