Missing a Mirage
Sometimes our reality
Is just stuck between our ears
A place where we can project
Our every wish and dream
And just because we live there
Doesn’t exactly mean
That the rest of the world is playing along
So eventually
When the real world catches up
With the world inside your mind
You can find yourself a bit misty eyed
Grasping to something
That seemed so real
But really wasn’t-
Somewhat like a mirage
One sees in a desert
Except this mirage
Is not a figment of one’s imagination
But rather a real person
Just not the one you projected in your mind
And the aftermath of that reality
Can leave you feeling sad and empty
But how can that be
When what you are missing
Never really was
And your reality is just
That you’re missing a mirage
