Buddha’s Grace
Today is Thanksgiving
And as such
We all should have our moments
To give thanks
It’s a day of food, football and fun
Uniquely American
Family focused
And a marker for the beginning of the holiday season
Some say grace before their meal
In a moment of reflection
And thought about the good things
They find in their lives
I came upon a different kind of grace today
One that struck me as important as thanks
But much more about legacy and kindness
It was attributed to Buddha
And it dealt with the grace you possess
When you find things
That are not meant to be
We live in go-go times
Instant gratification
Immediate communication
The world at our fingertips
But just because we can
See it
Touch it
Feel it
Doesn’t mean its ours
And the grace we show
When we find those things-
Things not meant for us
Will define your legacy
So be thankful for what you have
Show grace dealing with things not meant for you
And say grace today
Wishing well to and for all that surrounds you
