A Princess
I met the Queen of England
When I was younger
Much younger
During the Bicentennial
You know the one thing I remember the most
Apart from the pomp and circumstance
Was that she’s kind of short
Except for the big diamond tiara
I’ve also met a Princess
And she doesn’t have a tiara
At least not one she wears
Around the house
But she does have a heart
A huge heart
Full of kindness and love
And commitment
And while there are diamonds and sapphires
And maybe more to be found
The Princess delights
In family and friends
Because family is the treasure
And the Princess has a great one
Full of laughter and love
And wherever she lands
With her butterfly wings
She’ll always be a Princess
In the land of the loved
